Mark Robinson’s 83rd minute goal secured a late 3-2 comeback with for Seaham Red Star at home to Crook Town to send them through to the League Cup second round.

Adam Lennox gave Star a ninth minute lead before Jack Harrison tapped home two minutes later.

Jamie Nash’s stunner just after half time looked to be sending Crook through before Danny Sayer and Mark Robinson turned the tie around for Star.

Mark Collingwood gave returns to Mark Robinson, Joe Hailes and James Robinson for the midweek tie following the 1-1 draw with Guisborough on Saturday.

Star raced out the blocks and took an early lead as Lennox latched onto a flick on over the Crook defence before dinking the ball over Aaron Shilton.

However, Seaham were caught napping seconds later as Crook raced down the right-hand side before finding Harrison two yards out, who slotted home for 1-1.

Star almost retook the lead seven minutes from half time as a goal-mouth scramble saw the ball land at James Robinson, who was denied from point-blank range by Shilton.

Crook took the lead nine minutes after the break, as the ball fell to Nash 25 yards from goal, before he smashed his effort into the top corner.

With the game petering out, Star found their equaliser in fortunate circumstances, as Sayer played on following an advantage before attempting to find Tom Lawson, before instead finding the net.

As penalties loomed, substitute Louis Anderson is sent through on goal, rounds the goalkeeper before scuffing his shot, but Mark Robinson was there to force it home and win the tie for Seaham, setting up a second round tie at Newcastle Benfield.
