Seaham Red Star chalked up a win as Dalbeattie Star couldn’t stand the heat as both teams battled it out in this Pre season friendly.

 

Disappointment was in the air for Seaham Red Star, but Dalbeattie Star were happy with this one, capitalising on a well worked opening, they took full advantage with a superbly taken goal on the 10 minute mark.

An instinctive strike inside the box from Nathan Greenwood in the 21st minute resulted in a great goal for Seaham Red Star to level the score.

 

Goal for Dalbeattie Star in the 28th minute. There were moans and groans from the Seaham Red Star crowd, but in all honesty, there was not much the keeper could do there as the ball was forced over the line at the far post.

 

Goal on 37 minutes for Seaham Red Star. Richie Coulson picked up the ball and drove a sweet strike past the Dalbeattie Star goalkeeper to score a fantastic goal.after latching onto a long clearance by Bannon. 

 

Half Time 2-2

 

With 49th minutes on the clock, Dalbeattie Star took advantage of a spell of posession to score a nicely taken goal. 

 

In the 58th minute Nathan Greenwood picked up a loose ball and hit a crisp strike straight into the back of the net. The keeper stood absolutely no chance. Goal for Seaham Red Star.

 

Changes in the 67th minute for Seaham Red Star as Chris Bannon is replaced by Matty Wilkinson .

 

An instinctive strike outside the box from Sean McRoberts in the 80th minute resulted in a 4th goal for Seaham Red Star, and gave them the lead for the first time in the match.

 

After some nice work by Seaham Red Star, a gap opened up inside the box and Nathan Greenwood took the opportunity with aplomb to place the ball past the scrambling keeper. Goal time: 81st minute.

 

The alertness of Liam Gillhesphey proved too much for Dalbeattie Star in the 87th minute when he rose above the defenders and headed past the keeper, for the final act of an entetaining game.

 

A very good performance by Seaham to win 6-3 in their opening game of the pre season.
