Seaham Red Star's three-game winning streak was brought to an end as Hebburn Town won 3-1 at The Energy Check Sports Ground.

After a goalless first-half, the Hornets took the lead through substitute Ben Dibb-Fuller on 58 minutes.

Seaham replied straight away and levelled two minutes later when Joe Hailes found the bottom corner.

Jack Robson rifled into the top corner on 72 minutes, while a mistake at the back allowed Lewis Suddick to wrap the points up for the hosts.

The Star will look to bounce back from the defeat as they play host to North Shields at the weekend.

Manager Mark Collingwood made one change to the team that beat Ashington last Saturday as Bobby Taylor replaced Michael Chilton.

It was a fairly quiet start to the game, with midfielder Lee Kerr striking wide on two occasions, in the opening nine minutes.

Seaham settled and looked the better team as David Robinson picked up the ball and lashed just wide of the post on 18 minutes.

The hosts created their first chance, three minutes later, as Graeme Armstrong latched on Gary Shaw's ball over the top, but was denied by Chris Bannon.

Bannon held on to Robson's effort and minutes later Armstrong deflected Michael Richardson's free-kick before firing across goal and wide from a tight angle.

Suddick was the next Hebburn player to be denied by Bannon, who has been one of the Star's stand-out players since signing.

Appeals for a penalty were waved away on 36 minutes when Robinson got his shot away and appeared to have been fouled in the area.

Suddick and Andrew Stephenson failed to hit the target in the closing stages of the first-half as the teams were goalless heading into half-time.

Seaham started the brighter in the second-half and created a few chances to go ahead in the game.

Kerr's curling free-kick was gathered by Andrew Jennison, while Robinson and Anth Myers also went close.

It was the Hornets that went ahead in the game though. Dibb-Fuller had only been on the pitch a matter of seconds when he slotted the ball home.

However, there was an instant reply from Collingwood's men as they equalised on the hour mark.

The visitors worked the ball well in the build-up. Hailes picked up the ball int he area and tucked the ball into the bottom corner for his first Seaham goal.

Dibb-Fuller struck straight at Bannon on 65 minutes, while Craig Malley's low drive took two deflections and went inches wide of the post.

Hebburn went back ahead on 72 minutes after they capitalised on a mistake at the back before Robson fired across goal and into the top corner.

Bannon made a terrific save to deny Gary Shaw, but, moments after one of Seaham's centre-back's were pushed higher up the pitch, the hosts doubled their advantage.

A lapse in concentration, at the back, saw Hebburn pounce on their opponents. Robson squared the ball back across and Suddick fired home.
