The Star recorded their first win of 2019 when they completed a double over Newton Aycliffe with a 3-1 victory. Paul Gardner opened the scoring on 8 minutes, Daniel Knight replied for the visitors on 36 minutes and second half strikes from Dan Wilson 68 mins, and Andy Johnston 2 mins rounded of the scoring.

Mark Collingwood made two enforced changes with David Robinson and Bobby Taylor both unavailable being replaced by new signing Curtis Coppen and Andy Johnston in the starting line up.

The Star made a bright start and visiting keeper Pickford was forced into an early save when he pushed an effort from Dan Wilson out for a corner. The Star took the lead with a well worked goal, Nick Allen won the ball in midfield and picked out Wilson, who in turn laid the ball off to the unmarked Gardiner to strike the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Newton Aycliffe were restricted to the odd break away attack and Seaham were in control of the game. It was from one these quick breaks that the visitors equalised Marc Costello fed a through ball between the home centre backs and Knight raced through on goal before slotting passed Bannon. 

The second half saw Seaham defending against a pretty strong wind and had to work hard in the early staged to keep the visitors out. Former Red star striker Vinnie Gash was proving to be a handful as newton Aycliffe pressed to take the lead with long balls into the Red Star penalty area but keeper Bannon and his back line of defence handled the efforts very well. The Star regained the lead when Wilson took advantage of a goal keeping error to bury the loose ball and the game was wrapped up when Andy Johnston fired home following good work down the right flank by Wilson and Scott Young.  Gas almost got a goal back for the visitors but his looping shot was pushed to safety by Bannon.
