Manager Mark Collingwood brought in Liam Hodgson, and Harry Jewitt for Codie Howe and Liam Haley. Jonny Evans pulled up in the pre match warm up and was replaced on the bench by Sam Steele

Seaham started the game in a determined mood and controlled the midfield without creating any chances in the opening 20 minutes, the stars first effort on goal saw a Warren Byrne effort blocked by Alan Harrison. The hosts, through Aaron Brown, started winning the ball in midfield and a rare chance saw Ramsbottom’s shot deflected onto the cross bar and over for a corner. Pennal’s corner was met by Thompson who forced a great save out of Hunter. Seaham rallied and created a number of half chances leading up to the break but the sides went in with the game goalless.

Collingwood made his change 10 minutes into the second period with Gash replacing Hetherington, playing with a second striker saw the Star on top and they took the lead on 67 minutes, a mistake on the half way line by Mitton let Byrne in with a chance to run on goal, Seaham’s leading scorer went through and calmly placed the ball past the advancing James Winter. The Star were well on top and deservedly got a second goal in the 75^th minute, a cross in from the left eluded Byrne but Gardiner was hand at the far post to force the ball over the line. Just before the restart Collingwood introduced Andy Johnston for Jewitt, who had put a tremendous performance in. Gash almost made it three but Winter somehow kept his effort out. With time running out Seaham’s Hunter brought off a top save from a volley by Ryan Noble. With almost the last kick of the game Ramsbottom got away from his marker and steered the ball past Hunter for a late consolation goal.

Seaham picked up their first win of the season, thanks to an all round team effort.
