A long day for Seaham Red Star when their ten men were hit for six. Seaham got off to a bad start when McHarg was sent off after only six minutes, meaning struggling Red Star had eighty four minutes to play a man short. It took just two minutes for Carlisle to take advantage when Simpson put them in front from a free kick but to Seaham’s credit that was the only goal of the half. It took until the hour mark for Irving to add number two with a header from a Simpson cross but soon the floodgates opened. They quickly added a third when McCarron scored on his debut before Kerr grabbed a brace to round off an excellent afternoon for the home side.
