Mark Collingwood gave a start for new signing Liam Hodgson and added a second new signing Josh Elcoate to the Stars bench. Seaham were on the back foot from the start as the home team attacked regularly down both flanks. Seaham skipper Paul Weldon saw yellow when a mistimed tackle on Kevin Hayes after 4 minutes. Seaham went behind in the 16th minute and could count themselves unlucky as a clear hand ball by Tom Coulthart in the build up to the goal was missed by Mr parnaby the referee and from Hayes cross Shane Henry forced the ball home. Hayes doubled the lead 5 minutes later and Dale Mulligan added a third just before the 30th minute, heading home at the far post from a well taken corner kick.

The Star looked to have adapted to the pace of the game and were slowly getting back into the game, however in added time Stockton added two more goals through Jamie Owens and Jordan Robinson to head into the break 5-0 up.

Collingwood introduced Tom Lawson and Josh Elcoate for the second half and both youngsters were soon involved, Elcoate linked up well with Hodgson and Seaham started the second period well. Home keeper Lee Roberts was forced into his first save, pushing a shot from Johnson round the post. The hosts wre still creating good chances and Seaham’s Jennison produced the save of the game keeping out Matthew Mulligans shot in the 65th minute. Mulligan got the better of Jennison in the 75th minute by forcing a loose ball home following a scramble in the Seaham goal mouth

Seaham finally got the goal their second half performance deserved when Joe Hailes burst into the area and slotted home following a pass from Elcoate. The night’s final goal came in added time when max Craggs fired past Jennison to make it 7-1 to Stockton
