Amother disappointing resylt and performance from the Star. With a number of regular starters missing through injury or holidays Seaham brought in 5 of the Under 18 side to bolster the squad.
The Star were under pressure from the start and conceeded the games first goal on 8 minutes. Hume was left unmarked at the far post and gratefull accepted a pass from Jackson before firing past Chris Bannon.seaham tried to get straight b ack into the game a good period of pressure saw an effort from Dan Wilson well saved by the home keeper.. With twnty minutes on the clock Redcar doubled their lead, midfielder Wood was allowed to run through Seaham's midfield unchallenged before picking out Preston who slooted the ball past Bannon to make it 2-0.
Seaham started the second period brightly, substitue Taylor Richardson was felled just outside the area and Sean McRoberts stepped up to fire the resulting free kick into the top corner leaving the keeper helpless. Seaham continued to peress and a number of chances were created but none were taken. Redcar fought back and ran the game for the last twenty minutes coring 2 more goals. Adam Preston had a shot save by Bannon, but the rebound was netted by Wood. Preston completed the scoring in the 82nd minute wit a penalty kick that saw Bannon go the wrong way.
